



January 21, 2011: Did some work on the
neck:




March 1, 2011: Some work on the
neck: Staining the fingerboard black to emulate the look of
ebony. We're doing this because
Rick does not like the clackiness that an ebony fingerboard contributes to
the sound of a fretted bass , but he feels the ebony look
is better suited to this bass.

In these two
pictures, I'm softening the veneer that will be used on the tight curves
at the waist of the body, as well as the cutaway:

March 31,
2011: Working on installing the fiddleback veneer on
the body sides:


April 3, 2011: More of the
veneer has been completed - the two sections that make up the cutaway area
of the body:

9, 2011: Rick sent me a Line 6 Variax 700 Bass body
with a complete set of electronics, so I dismantled that today. Here
is the result:

22, 2011: Did some more work on the veneer
installation over the last few days:

May 18 2011: Routing for the neck is
done.



December 12, 2011: The neck, body, and
miscellaneous parts were shipped to the customer back in October. He
turned them over to Keith Roscoe for finishing. Here are a bunch of
pictures of Keith as he takes it through the finishing process:
